Team Luna Chix - Bay Area Cycling for Women

Charlise

If you asked Charlise 5 years ago whether she would fall in love with cycling and ride several thousands of miles over the course of a year, she'd think you were kidding - that's a joke, right?  Thanks to her husband dragging her out on a mountain bike ride on Mt. Diablo and some spin classes later, her passion was ignited...Further, cycling became very important to her head and heart during two tough years when she lost several family members in a short period of time. These tragic events helped her to realize how important it is to have a "place you can go" to release your stress and leave your cares behind - cycling and now athletics in general, is that place for her.

Charlise is dedicated to sharing her love of cycling with women. Whether it is 20 miles or 100 - if she can start with no cycling experience at all to being able to ride 100 miles in one day than anyone can do it!  She hopes to help inspire women to get out there and ride. She also hopes to contribute to the positivity of the cycling community as much as she can by contributing her free time to the LunaChix and fundraising for the Breast Cancer Fund.

In terms of her own personal cycling goals, she'd like to aim for the AIDS Ride as well as the Death Ride in 2008.

When not on her bike, Charlise can be found swimming and running (training for triathlons), skiing, practicing yoga or doing the Bar Method. She also enjoys the company of friends and family, good restaurants and sometimes dabbles in scrapbooking.   Charlise and her husband have two dogs - one mini dachshund named Frankie and a black lab named Murry.  She works as a Marketing Specialist at a national law firm in their San Francisco office.
